So we were in London over Xmas, and got re-hooked on EastEnders (so help me God, nothing good ever happens to those people, ever). But we left on a Monday morning, and I am dying to know- who killed Archie? Have they revealed it yet?
Please tell me! Please! 
I would like to know the answer to that also. But if I’m to guess I’d say they haven’t narratively revealed it yet.
ETA: Can you say what it is about Eastenders that makes people like it so much? Is it that seeing so many depressed/depressing people makes one feel better about ones own state of mind? “Well I’m a bit down. But I’m not as down as this shower of sh…people”
Nothing against fans. I’m sort of a fan myself. I just want to understand how it manages to be appealing when it is such a horribly depressing place (Albert Square)
You’ve got me. My British BIL who lived in Australia for a long time can’t fathom it either- he explained to me that Aussie soaps are full of attractive, happy people in bikinis have good sex, while Albert Square is… well, Albert Square. 
I have loved it for at least 16 years, go figure. Hard to keep everything straight, though- every time we moved, the new PBS station was in a totally different spot, sometimes YEARS ahead of or behind the last one. Now I see that much has changed around the square, and I miss Grant terribly- Phil is a whiny bitch without him.
Archie’s killer has not yet been revealed…this will happen during a ‘live’ episode in February. The Vic, carshop and bankaccounts went to his daughter Roxie…
They have apparently multiple scripts and they won’t know the final one till day of the show (a close friend of one of my direct reports works for the BBC as script editor for Eastenders)…Currently 3 people are the main suspects - Janine, Peggy and Bradley…both Bradley and Peggy will be leaving the series so being jailed for the murder of Archie is a convenient way out while leaving the door open for a possible return
I HATE “attractive happy people in bikinis who have good sex”. Seriously. They’re all over TV like flyshit. Goody for them.
I don’t agree Eastenders are depressed. Some of them are, with good reason, but a lot of them are ambitious to rise up out of their drab surroundings and make money and get a better life. It’s watching their struggle and following their little storylines, like in every good soap opera, that’s enjoyable.
We’re 5 years behind the current show. I know there will be scads of new characters coming along, but is PHIL still on currently?
For my EastEnders fix, I usually go to www.walfordwebforums.co.uk - there are some obsessives there who go to Digital Spy and other places for spoilers. Which I hate. I ill-advisedly opened this thread, knowing that someone might have the answer, but like the OP says, if it’s in spoilers, no worries.
BBC aired a EastEnders special the day of, or after, Archie got knocked off. They definitely insinuated that the main suspects were Bradley, Janine, and Peggy.
Personally I think it would be someone who has nothing obvious to connect them to the case.
My money’s on
Ryan. He’s already killed someone, has this incomprehensible lust for Janine, and would have probably been out of a job if Archie took over the Vic.
But it might also be
Lucas, he’s the murdering sort
salinqmind, Phil “looks like a big bald baby” Mitchell is still on the show. He’s rankled Archie a bit so he might be a suspect as well.
I loved how many people ACTIVELY had it in for Archie that night- I would like to see Ian do something like that, but it’s never going to happen…
