There’s an other half? That’s news to me.
Tomorrow, Sunday, Man City play Liverpool at Anfield.
Given the inept performance against Pompey last weekend and the rather lack lustre efforts against FC Copenhagen on Thursday night I expecting Liverpool to give us a bloody good thrashing.
City paid £32.5M for Robinho, the bloke just doesn’t seem interested. IMO it was a waste of money and the best player bought by City has to be Bellamy…who cost a mere pittance compared with this overrated Brazilian superstar.
Well, United are starting to run away with it now. They’ve got the bit in the mouth, and a full head of steam. I’d say you could lay money with confidence on them winning the Premiership. A domestic treble seems highly doable.
Can’t wait for them to complete the quad by winning the Champions League. That should be pretty amazing, given that they are playing so poorly.
Seems to me that refs are giving the title to the rags.
If that wasn’t a penalty I’ll show my arse in Tesco
Goooo Citeh
If you can beat the pool or at least draw, things will be perfectly set up for them to get stuffed in Madrid. Madrid being on an 8 game winning streak, the latest a 6-1 thumping in 45 minutes of Betis.
Check out Raul’s goals in that if you can, by the way. Seriously classy stuff, and I don’t even like Raul.
A very credible draw 1-1 against Liverpool.
The only snag about it is the fact that we’ve helped the bloody rags with that result.
Still you can’t have your cake and eat it
Better than the RS finally winning the EPL!
Token League Challenge[sub]TM[/sub] officially over.
- Who’s going to buy Liverpool?
- Who’s going to replace Benitez when they get bought?
- Do Liverpool have any hope against Real Madrid, with Torres knackered and Gerrard coming back from injury at best?
Discordia.
My good fellow, how many times do I have to remind you that the red shite is not Liverpool.
It’s that motley bunch of wankers from mould trafford ®
Innit?
One has to wonder where the Liverpool of the last 20 minutes of that game were during the first 25 minutes of the second half? City managed some very nice football, got a lead, started well defending it, then all of a sudden, Liverpool had the bit between their teeth and whoooa nelly!
Still, as I said, crown Manchester United now. And note that the bottom of the table is starting to stretch out, too. Looks like the dropping teams will come from the current bottom five, unless Tottenham manage a win tomorrow.
One also has to wonder about the apparent double standards of the FA.
Wright-Philips of Man City kicks a Stoke player and as a result of an FA enquiry receives a 3 match ban
Ronaldo of Man Utd kicks a Blackburn player and fuck all is done about it.
Well it looked like the referee saw it and decided not to do anything (which is a crime in itself). In that case the FA can’t do anything.
As I understand it, if the incident is mentioned in the referees post match report, then the FA’s hands are tied. If no mention is made, they can impose sanctions.
A case of one law for the red bastards and another for the rest.
You’re aware that I have no love for the rags, I’m now beginning to hate them with all the fury of a syphilitic and rabid skunk
Catastrophic news for Everton: Mikel Arteta is out for 6 months, after damaging cruciate ligaments against Newcastle. This has completely defenestrated our chances of finishing the season on a high.
Personally, I need to see Man U take care of Spurs in the Carling cup, thus putting UEFA qualification down to 6th place. Even without the Spanish playmaker, I reckon we can crawl home in 6th spot. Reckon Ferguson might give the Carling his full attention, as a clean sweep of all trophies is on the cards for them.
Thankfully, they are completely fucked against Inter. Carrick/Fletcher in central defence, or playing two injured defenders on pain killers. Mourinho must be licking his lips. How amusing that winning some mickey mouse cup (World Champions omg!!!) could well cause them to get booted out of a competition that actually matters.
Liverpool look set to get a beating at the Bernabeu too. Things are looking good for my no-english teams in the quarters prediction
Really? You surprise me.
With a bitter taste in my mouth, I’ll be supporting Man U this weekend against Spurs–since I support Arsenal, and–in addition to hating Spurs more than Man U–I’m as worried about Arsenal’s chances of holding onto a UEFA Cup spot as you are about Everton’s.
But I’m yet to be convinced that Man U will sweep all before them in the FA Cup and, even less so, in the Champions League. Sure, they’ve got the Premiership sewn up, and they’ll almost certainly beat Spurs in the Carling Cup. Their chances in the FA Cup are very bright–but Chelsea and Arsenal are still in it, and I’d expect either of those sides (having forfeited the league already) will be up for it, as their most realistic shot at silverware this season.
And in Europe, there’s still plenty of quality opposition–particularly Barcelona (despite their blip last weekend), besides Juventus/Chelsea; Real Madrid/Liverpool; and hopefully Arsenal, if we can get past Roma (I really don’t know what to expect from the current Arsenal side). And while I have no love for Inter (and I can’t stand Mourinho), how I would laugh if they knocked Man U out…!
Forza Nerazzurri!
The FAs decision not to take action against Ronaldo for kicking David Dunn is nothing short of disgraceful.
For fucks sake, if any other player from any other team had kicked out at an opponent you can bet the FA would have been down on him like a ton of bricks.
I’m not beginning to hate manure, I fucking detest the red bastards.
Annoyed? you betcha
It’s quiz time.
Who said this?
Like Bosingwa was banned for deliberately planting his foot in Arbeloa’s back the other week, right in front of the linesman? 'Fraid not. If the officials are deemed to have dealt with it on the pitch, even if they did so in a demonstrably inept fashion, the FA are pretty consistently hands-off. It’s stupid, but consistent.
About the only example I can recall of a decision being revisited in this manner is Ben Thatcher’s on-field assault on Pedro Mendes, for which he initially received only a yellow card. I’m sure there are others, but they’re once in a blue moon.
