Back in the '70s, they aired a show called “Dave Allen at Large”.
It was a mixture of standup and sketches; I used to die laughing at his stuff.
I’m pretty sure this was a UK/Ireland show.
So, is this guy still alive and kicking?

My dad loved DAaL. He loves Catholic jokes.
I tried to buy him some copies, but couldn’t find it on dvd or video anywhere.

There was a thread about this a year or two ago, I remember posting to it. Try entering Dave AND Allen and do a search in Cafe Society. I t should pop up. I think it wastitled “Dave Allen at Large.”
nope
Died a couple years ago.
Try:
They are offering:
Dave Allen (1994)
Dave Allen - Vintage Dave Allen
Dave Allen on Life (1998)
But please note these are all VHS tapes (PAL format), which may not play where you are.
So, did we ever find out if it was gin or water in that glass?
Dave was cool. I didn’t know he’d died. That’s a shame.
The show itself was moderately funny, but it had the best theme song ever.
The only thing other than the theme song that I remember now is that when Benny Hill did a parody of the show, he made a joke about how he was folding his index finger in to mimic how Allen was missing the end of his index finger.
