Uh, meaning?
Students finally getting their revenge. Wholly deserved.
It’s all about the yoof in the south. London is a slaughterhouse: holding Tooting, gaining Battersea, prob Ken and Chelsea, poss Putney (10,000 Tory maj gone).
Whoever becomes PM would need the confidence of Parliament, that is, be able to win a vote supporting them. If the exit poll is correct, and every non-Tory MP supported him, it could be Corbyn. However, that’s unlikely to be remotely stable.
Looking forward to another election in November…
Forced to resign.
Denied.
Of course he punched the guy - it was a boxing match!
You’ll need something better than decades-old student politics.
Darlington retained by Labour. That was a key seat where the Tories needed to win to have a decent majority, and again the former UKIP vote distributed fairly evenly. Well.
Nah, no way surely?
Not surprising. Remember Labour were the most anti EEC party in the 80’s. Many have remained deeply Eurospectic. How are SNP 2015 voters breaking in Scotland?
London is looking off the scale: Battersea going from 8,000 maj to 4,000 behind Labour.
Putney: 10,000 Tory maj in serious danger. Ken and Chelsea in balance. Croydon Central all of a sudden looks easy …
Undetermined as yet. Anecdotally, Nicola Sturgeon is way less popular than she thinks she is, and that’ll have an impact. A lot of the Unionist vote has probably moved to the Tories, and I expect Labour to regain a couple of seats from the SNP in Glasgow and environs. For them to lose 22 seats though…
Portillo moments coming for the Tories?
That would mean we’ve reached the moment in the story when the Obi Wan Kenobi/mentor-archetype gets struck down by the villain and inspires the hero to victory!
First SNP loss to Labour. Rutherglen and Hamilton West goes to Labour, 16 point drop for the SNP

First Scottish result in: Rutherglen (Glasgow, really) is a Labour win, with the SNP vote down 16%
The SNP have lost their first seat. This pleases me.
Props to our Chicago correspondent for beating the Scottish one to this result ![]()
I’m in Rutherglen & Hamilton West. I’m fucking overjoyed.
When the Tory knives in her back become unbearable.
It’s a bawhair majority, but it’s a hell of a swing.
Mhairi Black has retained her seat.
A bit of context, the SNP shed some 12000 votes since their victory last time. Labour’s vote stayed more or less exactly the same. Tories up about 5000 votes and turnout down quite a bit.
