Actually I wanted to know what the phrase "Soy un perdador"
means, most of you probably know this, but it appears in the Beck song loser, the only reason I ask is because he played in Ireland at the weekend, and I felt like a fool not being able to sing along to the song, that so many other people knew, so I looked up the lyrics on a web page and it threw this phrase back to me…

The proper Spanish speaker in me would like just to add that the word should be actually be spelled as “perdedor”. Also, as it has already been mentioned, that’s a literal translation of “I am a loser” which a better translation would be “Soy un fracaso” . . .
Which in turn literally is “I am a failure.” The common English usage of “loser” as indicative of some sort of intrinsic character defect (as opposed to just a guy who happened to not win) does not quite translate.
