i read this in newsweek yestaurday. i’m still outraged. i can not believe what went on at this school.
in a very odd coincidence or perhaps not, a woman who was in the our lady of the angels fire in chicago, wrote a book with a similar title to the article. the book by ms mcbride is titled “the fire that will not die.” both the chicago school and the s. a. school had only one way out. of course there are issues in s. a. that were not in chicago. no one stopped emergency workers or anyone from helping the children.
i hope that there will be a change in how emergencies are treated in s.a. perhaps then the death of the girls will not have been in vain.
after the fire in the school in chicago there was major changes in the fire saftey systems, and quite a few regulations were pened.
