I know for some the title is a free ride for the dirty imagination, but I’m talking about exercise equipment that can be used while sitting at a desk. Here’s an example: http://www.amazon.com/MagneTrainer-ER-Mini-Exercise-Bike-Exerciser/dp/B000V53KD8
I’m in pretty good shape, but there is still room for improvement plus having something extra to do seems kind of fun. I’d love to try out one of those standing desks with a slow tread mill attached, but that’s not going to happen at my office job. http://www.mercantila.com/p/signature-treadmill-desk-signature-9000-treadmill-desk-treadmill-accessory?utm_source=Google_Base&utm_medium=Shopbots&utm_term=www.mercantila.com&utm_campaign=signature-treadmill-desk-signature-9000-treadmill-desk-treadmill-accessory
Do any of you have experience or recommendations for me? I’m assuming I’ll be able to concentrate on work and still exercise at times.
Get some ankle weights and do slow leg lifts under the desk?
Set up a standing desk with a treadmill facing it?
Now my imagination’s ridin’ dirtay.
I sometimes sit on the edge of my chair and, without holding on to the armrests, lift both feet a few inches into the air and do bicycle rotations. Sounds easy, but it really starts to work your core after a moment.
I also brought a pair of very lightweight dumbbells to the office and now, if my suitemate and I are chatting, I’ll often pick them up and do some curls or tricep stuff while talking.
Also, kegels. If you’re a woman.
Heh. And for some of us, the title brought back images of duck and cover drills in the 50s (that desk sure is going to provide a lot of help when the overpressure hits!).
Get the desk with the treadmill. Then get a small plane.
Get one of those inflatable exercise balls as use it in place of your chair. Especially if you rotate around a bit on it you will be getting constant core exercise.
