It was 8 episodes and the finale was last night. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Did anyone else see it? Thoughts?
The challenge: he starts with only $100 and a truck, and in 90 days build a business that would be worth $1M. If it was worth less than $1M, the billionaire would add $1M of his own money to the business.
We really liked how this guy created opportunities, tapped into new and untried talent and how the team of people consisted of those where the “cream rose to the top” (to use the billionaire’s saying).
OK, no spoilers in this OP but there likely will be in following posts.
They had a cover. I think they told people it was a reality TV thing where this guy was trying to see if “he can make it” in business. Something like that.
The part about him really being a billionaire was undercover. I’d think the people on camera would have had to sign a release. In the show, others’ faces were blurred out.
Yes. He slept in his truck for the first few nights, before he could afford an apartment.
No kidding, right? Really. But he’s a sales guy, and so that helps a lot. We aren’t all sales people. Lord knows I am not. He knows how to close a sale, whether it’s “selling” to someone to join his team, or selling trinkets at a St. Patrick’s Day parade for food money. He also knows how to drive a team, he knows how to talk to people to do work for him. Several on his team worked their tails off for no promised compensation, and they received that compensation at the very end after he revealed who he was and what he was doing.
Those are great skills that not everyone has, and they were useful during this challenge.
But still, it was impressive to see what can be done, what was actually done.
I enjoyed the show. I’m glad things worked out well in the end for the members of his team.
One thing that no one mentioned here yet was the fact that he not only had $100 and a truck, but he also seems to have kept his health insurance. I think on just the second week of the show, he got stomach sick and I believe he said he went to see a doctor. I didn’t see a medical visit deduction on any of the calculations they showed.
