Understory crop

I was “driving around” on mapcrunch.com just now, as is my wont, and I came across this field in Cambodia. I’m not sure what the tree crop is - could be young rambutan trees, or even mahogany (I hear tropical woods are a growth industry) but I recognized the understory planting.

I love mapcrunch!

Hehe I love it too. I like to do the random and see how many of them I can say with a high degree of confidence that it couldn’t be in America. 85-90% could plausibly be taken from somewhere I have been. If you take out clues like languages on signs, or different road marking conventions it seems like 95-97% could be. I guess the world really is pretty similar.

I did come across this one that I was pretty sure wasn’t though

I’m not familiar with MapCrunch. Can someone off re a purpose and primer?

It’s a website that randomizes photos from Google Maps Street View. You can set parameters, and click on to the next shot, effectively “driving” along roads all over the world.

My usual methodology is outlined here: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=686352

I prefer geoGuessr to pass the time…

Thank you.
