Underwear question 2 - for the girls

I fondly recall the days when girls used to keep their knickers out of sight, and even a glimpse of ankle was exciting, but now it seems knicker waistband flashing is mandatory (here in Scotland anyway).

So whats with this? Is it actually a recent fashion thing, or did I miss it before?

I must know!

With hip hugging jeans, some women choose to let their highcut waist bands show—this has been going on a couple of years in California, at least. Usually the panties shown off are thongs.

Around here, the younger girls will do it, but it’s generally considered by everyone else to look skanky and slutty. The kids who do it generally think “slutty” is a good thing, so who knows?

It’s not just the undies they’re showing, its crack.

Unless your at least 21 and not hairy, KEEP YOUR CRACK TO YOURSELF.

Ya know, I have no idea why my fellow females feel the need to show their a$$es. They think it looks good and they’ll get lots of attention maybe? I would feel kinda silly myself.
I have talked about it with my significant other on many occasions and we both agreed its kinda trashy and a nice, form-fitting dress or skirt is sexier then half your butt or boobs showing.

IMO, butt-flashing is just plain nasty. Hopefully the trend will die before too long…

In response to the OP, it’s a fashion trend that’s developed over the last couple of years as jeans have gotten lower and lower. I think it’s disgusting, but I guess there must be people out there who think it looks good :dubious:

There are panties made with lower waistbands so that nothing is shown. I don’t see why more girls don’t wear those instead of flashing thongs at everybody.

Ah come’on there’s nothing wrong with a nice chick’s ass howing. Now if she’s 400 pounds, that’s a different story.

What if she’s a really nice 400-pound chick?

What?

The hipster thong.
My favourite pant.
Comfy, practical and almost invisible to the naked eye.

Uh… no.

Alot of women have tatoos on lower back. They said they get them there because no one can see them there. ha…

Yeah, I don’t get that trend either. I see it a lot on young girls… It shocks me.
I do like the low cut jeans, I do wear them once in a while, but I make damn sure I wear underwear you can not see.

Those of us with no hips who wish to wear blue jeans usually end up folliwing this fashion ‘trend’ without meaning to. That’s why I’ve switched to boxers

I like it myself, but I do find it only mildly disturbing that young girls are doing it. Now don’t get me wrong, I am a hippie kind of guy, but wow… Some parents let their kids do anything.

I guess its strange to me because when I see an attractive (adult) woman wearing low jeans with a nice thong showing, I get aroused. Same thing with Teddies or other sexy underoo type clothing. I just don’t think that belongs on a 12 year old.

Color me concerned.

I don’t wear thongs, but sometimes my underwear shows anyway. It annoys me greatly. Usually I wear boy shorts/hipsters.

Well, I think the distinction is that you can wear something professional or conservative looking and the tat won’t show, but when you’re out for whatever in your slutwear, you can show off your tat at the same time.

It seems to me that Britney sort of started this trend a year or two ago. I think she wore a rhinstone studded thong or something showing. I think it looks tacky, but then if you’re a size 3* and into the club scene, I guess tacky would be the way to go.

*I’ve generally seen this trend worn by skinny gals, and a low percentage of body fat is necessary to pull it off without major unsightly bulges.

I find the look really trashy. I just lost 3.5 sizes (yay me!) and now I can wear more hipster pants (although I still wear T-Shirts that cover over the waistband), and I specifically went out and bought all new underwear because when I bent over, my underwear would show. Now I have string bikinis and all is well.

I think it looks skanky if a guy OR girl does it.

It is kind of skanky. And kind of thoughtless for the poor guys who are distracted by it day after day…

Sigh
