I invariably take crap pictures. However, I had my only good photo taking day ever during a visit to the Botanic Gardens at Mt Tomah in the Blue Mountians.
I have no idea what happened. I was getting close to some things, further away from others, and these twoshots I took just seeing if the battery was working in my camera!
Not so much for the image quality, but just for the pose: Zazou
It was a complete fluke (I think he got his toe caught in the webbing under the box spring) but the expression and the pose perfectly express my cat’s personality. I use this photo everywhere (it’s my LJ default icon, among other things).
I took this photo of Auggie at Xmastime last year. I think it’s the best “HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME??!” look ever.
I took this one of the kttens, Snickers and Biscuit, becasue I thought it was cute the way they were looking out the window together. I only noticed their tails after I downloaded it.
This is my sister’s JRTs in a rate quiet moment in the sun.
I have one…it’s on Photobucket so the glory has been shrunk a little. I was just fooling around, taking pics on my balcony, when I came up with this one:
I am no photographer, just do it solely for fun. If you could see the original version of this, the one that’s over a meg or whatever, you’d really see how surprisingly nice it came out! I have this as my desktop most days.
When I got married back in 2004, we got a nice gift from my new wife’s father: he set us up in an Eiffel Tower-view room at Paris Las Vegas, with a package that included some nice extras. Among the extras was a ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower (it’s only about half the size of the real one, but still).
So, we went up at night. I had my faithful little 2 MP digital camera, and I didn’t expect any of the pictures to come out. For one thing, night pictures are hard. For another, the top of the tower is caged in, and there are only small holes you can barely stick a camera lens through for a picture. But, I tried a few. And one of them turned out to be absolutely amazing. Behold: the Las Vegas Strip at night.
And I’ve taken a few really nice lucky pictures of hummingbirds, too. Birdy, birdy, birdy. Same camera as the Vegas pic. I need to take care of that sucker.
I no longer have my military photo collection since my camera and photos were stolen some years ago, before scanning and storing pics on hard drives was commonplace. But I snapped one back in '88 at Grafenwoehr, the gunnery range for the Army’s bigger toys.
I snapped a shot of our platoon sergeant’s tank turret, with all the small arms (small arms on a tank is an M240 7.62mm MG) cleaning equipment and various machineguns disassembled for cleaning. It was an overcast day, and our tank’s olive drab paint jobs were kind of faded, so it looks like a black & white photo, except for a bright red Coke can sitting on the TC’s cupola.
