Unexplainable behavior of other people

Some people are easy to understand. Their actions follow pretty predictable patterns that trace back along a logical path. Some people apparently don’t follow such behavioral patterns. Take for instance my girlfriend’s roommate. For no explainable reason (to me or my GF at any rate), she throws away perfectly good paper towels, half used rolls of toilet paper, hand towels, pot-holders, and 3/4 empty things of hand soap.

Just yesterday my GF bought some new toilet paper because they were out. She put the new one on, and used it once or twice. There was no noticeable decrease in size of the roll. Yet the next day when we went out for pizza and got home, there was a fresh roll and the “old” roll sitting at the bottom of the trash with a half used roll of paper towels. Not dirty, wet or otherwise soiled.

Anybody have such little mysteries of behavior in people around you? Do you have any behaviors that might be confusing to others?

I had a roommate move out once because she could not live with my slobbish ways. Apparently I went away for a weekend and left a dirty coffee cup beside the kitchen sink. As far as I know, that was my only transgression. When I came back, she was gone. All she left was a note.

She also used to stalk my girlfriend at the university, follow her into the bathrooms, and try to start conversations through the stall partitions.

Is she some kind of germophobe? I’d have to ask about that, it sounds expensive. I’ve set aside rolls of paper towels as “cleaning only - not for use with food” after touching them when I had cleaning residue on my hands. The paper wicks it right into the roll & I think, gee, if I set a piece of pizza on one of those sheets to warm it in the microwave, the chemicals will be transferred to my food.

As you can see, I am completely understandable and justified in everything I do   .
