Discovered a new one yesterday at the movies DarkWriter. Popcorn and Malteasers (maltballs). This made me actually say ‘oooh yummy’ aloud!
I’ll have to try your combo sköt of the peanut butter and thinly sliced red onion. Sounds good to me - I love onions.
Just had a sarnie of sliced garlic chicken with sweet curry sauce on granery bread. Hubby made one of those ‘oh dear god’ faces and quickly left the room
I LOVE hashbrown and cheese omelets. I didn’t mention it before because I don’t think it’s particularly “unholy.” If you ask for an omelet “and put the hashbrowns in it” around here, nobody bats an eye.
Washte, judging from your hubby’s constantly negative reactions to your eating habits, I can only presume that you have other sterling qualities which offset those reactions. Of course, it’s also possible that he has no taste for the finer things in life (except for youself, of course).
Oh, and when I fixed lunch yesterday I added peanut butter to my grilled cheese sandwiches. This thread is murder on my alleged diet, as I keep finding more things I like to eat.
My grub appreciation knows few bounds. I am very adventurous and will try most anything once. Hubby is very much a basic meat and 2 veg fella. Occasionally he’ll try, and like, summat new but not often, though it is always fun to try.
I like french fries with a Wendy’s Frosty or a chocolate shake, too.
I’m going to look up dysgeusia on Google–for over two years, I’ve had distortion of both smell and taste. Even though things are returning to normal, I’d like to find out more about it!
i like to put salt on my grapefruit…gets lots of weird looks…but i don’t know why…i also like to dip wheat thins in blueberry yogurt…YUMMY…a friend of mine INSISTS on mixing green beans with spaghetti…not just hers, though…she will prepare the spaghetti with the green beans already mixed in for those she is serving…very strange
Oh be still my beating heart!! I have loved french fries with chocolate shakes for ever (well, since I first tried it). My personal fave PB sandwich is PB, banana, and marshmallow fluff on wheat bread. God, I haven’t had one of those in a long time.
When I was in kindergarten, I had a mustard and ketchup (yes, just the condiments) sandwich on white bread pretty much every day.
My husband always flips out when I put mustard on my mashed potatoes. Also, at holidays I like to put a bit of everything on a roll (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, corn, cranberry relish) at the same time and just stuff it in there.
My sister-in-law does the weirdest thing with beans. (My father-in-law makes beans sometimes - not baked or anything; just pinto beans cooked and seasoned with some ham.) She likes to crumble up her cornbread in the bowl and top it off with some vinegar. And my mother-in-law does hers sans vinegar, add ketchup.
Come to think of it, my husband’s family likes ketchup on just about anything (chicken, pork chops, corn, scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese). What weirdos!!
My favorite weird thing is Mock Chicken sandwiches with mustard and either regular potato or salt and vinegar chips and a glass of milk.
My grandfather just loves peanut butter and bacon on pumpernickle bread. I tried it once and only once.
My friend and I used to have strange sandwiches. Usually sliced weiners with mayo, peanut butter and dill pickles. A couple of times we added cheese. Once we added strawberry jam, but it didn’t go well.
My co-worker puts vinegar on pizza…has almost everyone in te office doing it. Blech.
Peanut Butter, Hard boiled egg slices(I still wanna get one of those thingamombobs that make a boiled egg square, it would get much more efficient overage), and Cajun Sunshine hot sauce. I also believe Blue Cheese(eaither dressing or crumbled) goes with anything.
Well, I’m sure if my GF is lurking, she’d expect me to reply to this…
Something that I eat for “quick food” is tuna, nacho-cheese doritoes and sliced cheese. Nuke it a bit to get it all warm and gooey. Yum! (I’m not allowed to make it when someone is home )
The other thing that my GF thinks is weird is chocolate icecream and cheese curls (together in the bowl). This is “happy” food for me, so she actually lets me eat it in front of her. (what a gal!)
