Unidentified Flying Object crashes in Croatia

That’s the headline on HuffPost, but you should know that it’s quite literal. They don’t say that an Alien Spacecraft has crashed in Eastern Europe, but that a Flying Object that hasn’t been identified has. Speculation is that it’s a drone from over in Ukraine that somehow got off course. There’s awar going on there, I understand

This is a good time to point out that “Unidentified Flying Object” is a real term with a literal meaning that has pretty much been hijacked by the paranormal community. As Donald Menzel and Philip Klass, UFO skeptics both, have pointed out, frequently the unidentified phenomena reported as mysterious and possibly an alien craft might be “unidentified”, but isn’t necessarily “flying” or an “object”. Astronomical bodies 9the moon, stars, planets) have been cited. Also things like sundogs and fragmentary haloes, not to mention mirages and the like.

In this case there was a real object, it was flying, and it still hasn’t been identified.

It’s Tupolev Tu-141 unmanned aircraft. It’s unclear whether it belonged to Russian or Ukrainian army.

It probably collapsed because it ran out of fuel; it’s range is about 1000 km.

I hope it’s a mistake and not a provocation, the implications would be awful. Another drone was in Hungarian airspace 12 hours later.

So, the six ton aircraft flew over the three NATO countries; Romania, Hungary (40 minutes) until it finally fell in the Croatian capital.

So much for the NATO radars.

Interesting oddity is that it fell in the Zagreb neighbourhood of Jarun. There’s a town with the same name near Zhytomyr, Ukraine. Could be a programming mistake.

Indeed, the thing doesn’t look in any way designed for stealth.

The drones and missiles are going rogue!
