That’s funny.
So is that.
That’s funny.
So is that.
I wore a green dress. The hubby wore a black sweatshirt with the letters N and V spelled out in electrical tape.
We were green with envy.
(Do note that this works better when you don’t live in the state whose postal abbreviation is NV…)
We went a few years ago as a pair of high top tennis shoes. I made the costumes out of foam rubber. The front of the shoes were held up by fishing line tied to a dog collar. I painted them to look like converse all star high tops.
They were a bit unwieldy to get around in, but we got tons of compliments on them.
This is a very cute idea, but, out of curiosity, what is the costume for a blood bank?
How about Ghandi and Lot’s wife?
When my brother and I were little kids, my dad brought home a couple of cardboard boxes, spray painted them white with black dots, and we went out for Halloween as a pair of dice. I suppose you could do something similar in adult sizes.
I once went in a group as the White Rabbit with Alice and a few other characters from Alice in Wonderland. Nobody really liked anyone else’s costumes, to the point where they couldn’t be identified unless Alice or I were standing with them. But everybody LOVED Alice and I. So not really unique or out of the ordinary but I think it’s cute.
Beat me to it! It actually, IMO, is funnier with thick New YAWK accents.
Did you see the GI Joe Movie?
Go as Destro & the Baroness.
I have relatives who put a lot more time and energy into Halloween than I ever will. They have been:
Colonel Sanders and Ronald McDonald
Laurel & Hardy
The Mona Lisa and DaVinci (She carried a cardboard frame to complete the effect.)
Willy Wonka and Veruca Salt
Captain Hook and Peter Pan
Robin Hood and Friar Tuck
Hester Prynne and Arthur Dimmesdale
They kept an assortment of costume items they got mostly at thrift stores. Willy Wonka and Captain hook wore the same coat, for instance. Peter Pan and Robin Hood had many costume elements in common. Mona Lisa and Hester wore the same dress.
I am absolutely loving this idea!
My husband and I went as the White Rabbit (me) and the Mad Hatter (him.) I really tried to class it up, with a beige lace skirt, white heels, and a snugly fitting brown button-up jacket (along with ears and a tail, of course.) He wore this enormous burgandy velvet jacket and a funny purple hat. I think it was pretty great.
A year or two prior to that, we went as a butterfly and a butterfly catcher.
Just remembered another one. Last year some trick or treaters appeared at our door as Brad Pitt & Agelina Jolie
He was just dressed in jeans and a t-shirt and she had a simple dress. They had lots and lots of dollar store baby dolls painted (stained?) various shades of brown in front carriers, back packs and velcroed on them.
I havn’t seen a headline about Bangelina in a while so this might be passé

My wife and I went a couple years ago as the Phantom of the Opera and Christine.
Last year we ran out of time, but we were going to do a family “circus” theme. My little one was a clown, I wanted to be the Strongman, and I tried to talk my wife into being the Bearded Lady. Bearded Lady just needs a beard and a dress; for the Strongman, wear a handlebar mustache and a wrestling singlet, and pad yourself out with foam muscles.
Edit: Deleted because of zombie thread…appropriate for Halloween, though.
