Unix certifications- how useful for trying to get back into the field?

For the past year and a half, I’ve been working at a job where I’ve been doing database front ends in Microsoft Access, among other things. I took this job in the fall of '08, when the economy was cratering and I was willing to take pretty much anything I could get.

Before that, I was in Unix system administration, and I’d like to get back into it. I’m considering spending my time after I leave my current job in trying to get some certifications, like the SCSA and the RHCE. Would those be likely to help me significantly in my attempt to get back into system administration?
