Having no insurance sucks. I just spent, essentially, $300 so I could get half of my prescription refilled. I went to this ZoomCare place that I went to last year that hooked me up. This time, different doctor, or rather, nurse practitioner, who sucked. Last year it was a one stop shop. I got my prescription refilled and I got my toe fungus taken care of. This time around, they wanted my to schedule separate appointments for everything I needed - not alot … look at my toe, clean out my ears, refill my prescription. Nope. It’s one thing only, pick one. So I got my prescription refilled and … she fucked it up. Half the milligrams I’m supposed to get, so basically I have half my prescription and I’ll probably end up having to come up with another $300 in a month and a half.
Fuck!
I’ve been off my Lexipro for a week and it’s starting to affect me adversely, so I gotta do what I gotta do.
I took my dog in for a teeth cleaning and one tooth removal (he broke it on a too-hard toy) early this morning. They said I should plan to pick him up by 3:00 p.m. and they would call earlier to let me know how the procedure went. It’s now after 3:00 and I haven’t heard a thing. I don’t want to be a nuisance, but…
The last time this happened with my previous little guy, the vet’s office (different office) called after the scheduled 3:00 p.m. time. And told me my dog had died.
This is the crap cherry on top of a month where there’s 1) a new break in the water line coming in to the house from my well, and 2) my farm pond drained. Literally drained. Apparently whatever cap or stopper was used to plug the drain came loose. On the bright(ish) side, the plumbers coming on Tuesday to fix the broken water line were game to have a look at the pond drain at the same time. I mean really, pipes are pipes, right?
But right now, I’m mostly worried for my baby dog.
I hope so, too. I just got an email from the vet’s office after having called and left a message (no one answered the phone), scheduling an appointment for him 2 weeks from now. From this, I conclude he at least survived the anesthesia and tooth removal. They close in just over an hour, though, and I still haven’t been notified to come get him.
You’re welcome. I have a 5-year-old Havanese that I have spent hours with in vet hospitals when she had a back problem between her rear legs. She was in pain all the time, wouldn’t eat, wasn’t herself for days. It was scary. A dog is a family member and the grief and worry are real so I really feel for you.
What a gorgeous pup! And digging in the backyard is a canine instinct to be admired!
I would have expressed my sympathy with your worries as well but I was away from the board for a while. I’m glad that I joined in here late so that I could quickly skim to the happy ending!
