Unknown children's program + "Their Satanic Majesties Request" song cover?!?

I just uncovered an interesting bit of trivia I’d like to share, and a question…

When I was a very young child growing up in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) I used to watch a children’s show that had live actors doing stories. I can’t for the life of me remember the children’s show, but for decades I’ve remembered the opening to the song:

“Why don’t we sing this song all together
Open our heads let the pictures come
And if we close all our eyes together
Then we will see where we all come from…”

I recently remembered the opening lyrics to the song & did a search on google. I discovered the song was indeed used (or most likely a cover of the song) for a children’s tv program… but I don’t know the name!

What startles me is that this song was (originally?) performed by the Rolling Stones on “Their Satanic Majesties Request” album… and the song/cover was used for a children’s tv program!!

Anyways, I thought I’d mention this search of mine in the hopes some other slackers in their 30’s/40’s might remember the tv program’s name & who did the song if it was a cover (which I suspect). And I’m also making this post for any Rolling Stones fans as an interesting little bit of trivia.

Don’t know if you found this entry on what seems to be a group dictionary-type site, but someone else out there thinks the show was called “ASL.” Only I can’t find anything about tv shows produced in Canada in the 60’s for deaf kids, and especially not one called “ASL”. The only thing is Deaf Planet which says it’s the first TV show (and Web site!) for deaf kids and it started last year or so.

Here’s a list of children’s television shows from Canada. Any of those ring a bell?

Thanks for the reply, Zipper! Doing more research, I discovered that the program was called “Story Theater” and was shown for only one season on the Canadian network CTV in the early 70’s.

I sincerely thank you for the reply
