Unlock the 007 in you

Very funny, cool James Bond Skyfall ad:

OK, that was cool. I’d never have made it. The dogs would have got me.

That’s awesome!

Very unrealistic. Bond would have bedded the woman in the red dress. But still pretty cool.

Very cool, thanks!

Well, he would at least have either gotten her phone number or taken her hand and brought her along… but he understands the importance of deadlines better than most!

Okay, that was kind of fun to watch. It’s clearly too expensive to do a wide campaign on but I do like creative marketing like this.

I liked the sing-along at the end. The looks on the guys faces when they read the final instructions were priceless. Then when everybody watching joined in, they relaxed and rolled with it.

I wonder about the legal implications involved, should one of these random folks actually fall and seriously injure themselves.

They were prompted to undertake a somewhat dangerous activity for reward, and being purposely impeded by the prompter in order to increase the level of difficulty (read inherent level of danger).

Therefore, very cool idea, but fake, IMO.

I would have been distracted by the woman in red, just like Neo.

While it’s a very funny commercial, I happen to think it was staged. Imagine some contestant injuring himself and Coke doesn’t have so much as a signed waiver. I can’t imagine this getting past the lawyers.

Other doper thoughts?

Bet you they had the guys sign a waiver before they even saw the first box. Get volunteers, give them a rough idea of what might happen, sign the waivers, then send them off to run the course. That way you have the best of both worlds: legal coverage and a sense of wonder.

I suspect you’re right. I hadn’t considered the liability aspects before.

I like how all the random volunteers were young, fit and good looking. What, don’t fat ugly middle aged guys drink coke zero?

The Coca-Cola Company would disavow any knowledge of their actions.

That film is in the edit that the employees are watching and laughing at.

You can be guaranteed that those people were actors or, at the very least, culled from a select group of volunteers.

This one does.
