One thing that’s always bugged me about my 2005 Prius is that only the driver’s door will unlock when you touch the handle. I live in Rainland. When I go to the market I’ve had to open the driver’s door so that I could unlock the passenger door so that I could put my groceries back there. It only takes a few seconds, but it would be handier if I could touch the driver’s door and not have to open it to unlock the passenger door. (All doors unlock when the hatch is opened, BTW.) So today I found this:
Are all Toyota key fobs programmable? Where did you get this information? The reason I ask is tat I recently bought a 2002 Toyota Sienna and there was no owners manual with it. With mine, I have to press UNLOCK twice in order to unlock all the doors including the rear hatch. If I press it only once, only the drivers door unlocks. I’m quite happy with that arrangement but I’m curious if the fob is programmable as yours is.
Nice! I’m going to have to do this on our 2013 Rav4.
Usually with the wife and kid in tow we get to our doors at the same time and when I grab the handle to get in it unlocks my door but leaves them locked out. Then they have to wait until I press the unlock button on the inside of the door.
Thanks for the tip!
