I love/hate that song. Annoying, yet with a very earwormish quality about it. Here it is.
This may not qualify as “unusual,” but SatireWire remains one of my all-time favorite humor sites, even though they quit in 2002. Ah, memories.
Does anyone know what the first porn site on the Web was? There had to be one, and it should have a special place in the Smithsonian for its influence on American culture.
This is what I came in here to mention. Oh how I loved that site. I was sorry to see it go, but could totally understand why.
Are you certain the SciAm writer is the same guy?
As far as I’m concerned, by FAR the most sadly missed site on the web is the dearly departed Dysfunctional Family Circus.
(Anyone know where I can get a copy of the complete archive of submissions?)
They never kept all their submissions, but there’s an archive of their best ones here
The original website that started it all, Mr. T Ate My Balls, is still out there.
It’s not too “old,” but villainsupply.com has sadly departed this veil of tears. Gamerjargon.com, too.
This says jennicamhas gone to that big 404 in the sky.
A few weeks ago, I was trying to find one of those ancient memes: a high school girl with a Geocities Web site where she gushed over her boyfriend, how they were going to stay pure until they got married, and … oh, that he had anal warts. I think it was a hoax, but still …
Theresa, the Billboard Girl, is still looking for Mister Right, even after she was knocked up by a bald guy with a goatee a few years ago.
Eve Astrid Andersson, better known as Pi Girl, an ancient meme from the early 1990s, has grown up and is now a college professor.
Either Bianca’s Smut Shack (really just smutty talk) or Danni’s Hard Drive, I think.

I remember online soda machines, but I haven’t seen those in a long time.
Holy Buddha on a biscuit.
Every time I think I am beyond being creeped out, I soon realize it’s not true.
On the big day, instead of streaming video the site displayed a screenplay for a porno film. There were also many new banner ads for condoms.
An SDMB-one. Giraffe’s Urine Challenge. I was reading the thread a while back, and the website (“Urine Trouble Now!”) was gone.
I remember they had BushLog, a fake blog for Dubya. It was pretty funny.
Warning! Link below movie definitely NOT worksafe
All these links… it’s like being mystified and creeped out all over again!
I *was * sure of it, but can’t find verification. Maybe not.
There used to be a website that two ladies made about their fat annoying coworker. They had drawn pictures of her using Microsoft Paint or something similar, and told stories about all the annoying and disgusting things she did at work. I can’t for the life of me find that anywhere!
Also, that Japanese-esque flash animation of the singing cat. If you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. It’s singing in a really high pitched voice and it’s depressing because at the end the boy cat goes off with some other cat :(.
Just as a Moderator’s reminder: be sure that links do not go directly to a page that is not safe for the workplace.
Lots of our members access the Message Board at work, and we would hate it if someone got fired because of clicking on a porn site just as the boss walks by. So our rule is, the direct link must be “workplace safe.” Secondary links can be to less strict standards, since the person clicking twice presumably knows what they’re getting into. (A single click could happen accidentally.) All OK?
So, also, a warning: be careful about clicking on links in your workplace!
