Unwritten Laws In Baseball

I’m not a baseball player or that serious of a fan, but I’ve also heard that it’s bad to slide spikes up. Is this true?

I worked for a baseball team and we laughed every time fans would get in an uproar about this.

If the first two batters of an inning were retired on a single pitch each, the next batter must take the first pitch (never give the other pitcher / team the satisfaction of having a 3-pitch inning).

Never make the first or third out at third base. If you’re rounding second with nobody out, you better be sure you can get to third else you’ve squandered a chance for your team to have a runner in scoring position with none out. Likewise making the third out at third deprives the upcoming batter of a chance to drive you in, which he might just as easily do if you’re on second base.

After preview I see it was in the linked list but I think this one merits its own post anyway.

To me, making the second out at 3rd base is also a big no-no.
