Marlin Perkins, in the helicopter he used to watch Jim wrestle tigers and make erudite comments. “Jim will tag the drugged cheetah. The cheetah seems to be waking up…Cheetahs can run at speeds up to 45 miles an hour…Jim seems to be making about 46…”

The thing is, in the 70’s when “The Wild Kingdom” was on TV, Marlin was an older man. Of course he had someone else doing the heavy lifting.

But back in the day, he had done all of those kinds of things - wrestle the alligator, walk up and pet the lion on the head, juggle cobras. He was The Man.
