Update On Las Vegas Shows

Just a quick update to anyone coming to Las Vegas in the near future:

Spamalot is closing at Wynn on July 13 and Danny Gans will be moving from The Mirage over to Encore (the new tower/casino/hotel next to Wynn) about that same time.

Jersey Boys just opened at Pallazzo (new tower/casino/hotel next to The Venetian).

Cher will start performing at Caesars on May 6th at the Colosseum theater there - she will be one of three - joining Bette Midler and Elton John in alternating shows; meaning one will perform for about four weeks, then the other for four weeks, and so on. So if you want to see one of those three divas, call ahead to see who will be performing while you are there. I have heard tickets sell quickly, so you might want to order in advance. Tickets run from about $95 to $250 per seat for each of the three shows.

According to an email I got the other day, Cirque du Soleil is partnering with Criss Angel (Mindfreak) on a new show at the Luxor in September. Sounds pretty weird to me. I guess they’re doing an Elvis show too? A bit all over the place.

I hadn’t heard of the new Luxor show, but considering the Luxor currently has Carrot Top as their headliner, I am not exactly in shock hearing the news.

Regarding Cirque du Soleil’s plans for the Elvis show, that is coming to the brand new, yet to be finished, hugeass $7.5 BILLION dollar mega-mega resort known as the City Center. When that place is finished, it is going to make all the other casinos on the Strip look like Motel 6’s.
