I’ve just upgraded to Win2KPro and The 'Dope dosen’t recognize my old ID. Not really important but I’ve been a member since '99 and would like to keep my old identy. Any suggestions?

Yes. E-mail an administrator, for example Tubadiva at Aol.com, and beg for forgiveness because you created a second screen name, which is a no-no.
Then tell her which name you’d prefer to keep (I’m guessing it’s not this one), and we’ll reinstate (i.e. tell you what your old ID is) the old name.
Jake, send me an email. Who were you before and what’s going on? What happens when you try to sign on?
It’s quite possible that the problem is not in Windows but rather in your SDMB settings. But I can’t look at them to see what’s going on until I know for sure who you are.

My old name was Jake. When I upgraded my computer to W/2000 all hell broke loose. I am not trying to double register. I just want to have my old status back. My password can be obtained at Jakebb@mindspring.com. I’ve been a member since "99 and would like to keep my status. BTW I’ve been a fan of your’s since AOL.
If you can’t help me please delete my old name “Jake”.
Thanks again,

Jake, have you copied the above info in an e-mail to Tubadiva as well?
These problems are sorted out through email, not board postings. You send an email, not tell the admins to email you.
