My "teeming millions" with my old user name is still up

I posted a profile about three years ago on the “teeming millions” page from my work computer. After I got laid off (perhaps I spent too much time posting on the straight dope), and since I didn’t have a home computer, I wasn’t able to get back to the straight dope for months and forgot all about my profile. When I finally got a computer again, so much time had passed thatI couldn’t even remember my old password and assumed my account had been deleted due to misuse. I opened a new account and logged in with a new (my current) user name. Only today have I gone looking through the teeming millions profiles and realized that my old profile is still there!

My original username was “fat angel”, then changed it to “Me! Joe!!” (although my profile is still under ‘fat angel’). It makes me wonder if I could still log in under my old user name (assuming I can dredge up my old password.)

Also, it is a bit humbling to look at my “humourous” drunk references from back then, now that I am in the process of getting sober. I guess I was more like Barney Gumble than I thought…

I would shoot an email over to Tuba. If it can be fixed, shes the one that can do it.

If you mean www.teemingmillions.com (or fathom.org), then OpalCat- opalcat@aol.com - is who you want. That site has no official link with the SD, and the staff here has no power there.

Most certainly.

While your circumstances are understandable, having two logins on the SDMB is against the rules. Kindly get in touch with one of our administrators per e-mail, and they’ll gladly help you out with whatever name you decide to stick with.

FWIW, I think this one is superb.

MHO: I much prefer the new name as well.

art, do you post on an alabama board? or maybe a twin…

Excuse me, Mr. Vandelay? … You designed the Gugenheim, didn’t you?! I’m a big, big fan.
