I Cannot Log Out

Up the time of the “great shut-down” of the SDMB aver two years ago ,I used to have a different user name. When it started up again I re-subscribed with a new user name and details. Imagine my surprise today on seeing that I had been logged in on my old user name . I was also asked for a payment for the subscription , even though I had paid on my new name a couple of weeks ago. I then decided to log out of my old name and log into my new . But the system won’t let me.

So why has my old user name suddenly appeared again and why can’t I log out of it?
I must add I am using a different computer than when I was using my old name so it cannot be anything to do with cookies. Anyway , when I started using my new computer two days ago I logged on to my new name OK. I am confused. :confused:

I must add to the above the fact that the e-mail address for my old user name is no longer valid ( the ISP no longer exists) and I cannot remember my old password. So I cannot change any of my old details or even receive any e-mail notifications.

Success . ( Its me with my new name ). I managed to log out , by disableing cookies in Firefox. But I am still puzzled why my very old user name suddenly appeared. And I have paid for two subscriptions , because I did not see I was logged into my old name until I had paid.
