Without logging out. I’m using the SDMB, go do something else, come back to the computer, try to post or searched, and I have to log in all over again. Is this happening to anyone else?
Yes, it’s happening to me. Was waiting for someone else to complain. 
There seemed to be a bit of strangeness earlier in the evening but it resolved without further problems or action. Sorry for your inconvenience.
There’s a box you can check when you log in that says, “Keep me logged in.” Are you checking it? Sometimes I forget to do that when the board has timed out.
It happens to me every day, several times a day.
My problem is a bit different. I log in, it says “Thank you for logging in, Erdosain,” and then it kicks me back to the login screen. No explanation. It’s happened about 15 times in the last week. If I try to log in again, the same thing will happen. I usually just have come back later to try to log in. It’s really annoying when I’ve already been logged in, and I’ve typed up a whole post.
That also happens to me. What I do is copy the post and save it until I can log back in.
Well, I’m glad it’s not just me. I do the same, but I often lose interest before I can log back in later and re-post. It’s just frustrating, but I guess that’s just how it is.
I just came to this forum to post the same problem. Actually, I noticed it a while ago, but since no one else was saying anything, I thought it was just me. Today, though, I got irritated enough to say something! Used to be that I only had to log in if I cleared all my cookies or logged out on purpose. Now, if I take too long reading a thread, I have to log back in. Quite irritating.
I did discover that perhaps the ads aren’t as annoying as I feared.
The same thing was happening to me when I was trying to reply or search. I clicked the “Remember me” box and it let me through to the reply/search screen.
