US Midterm Election watch along thread

Every vote, every county.

The protest signs they showed were: “Hobbs = cheat”.

In Nevada rumour has it that laxalt’s camp is not feeling optimistic.

Can you say more about this? I haven’t seen any coverage of this anywhere, but then, I’m not local so I mightn’t.

I was composing my post in question when the thread got locked. When I came back later, the thread was open, and my draft was still waiting, just the way I left it.

So I simply posted it, not realizing what had happened in the meantime.

I would suggest that you reconfigure the software to make such an occurrence impossible. When a thread gets locked, it should automatically delete pending posts. If I had had to search for the post that I had been replying to, I would have seen your note.

Our little community of 5,000 organizes a small Avenue of Flags for holidays, which they did on Thursday. Also on Thursday, someone in a Trump 2024 shirt was waving one of the flags around at the main intersection and someone with a big shiny pick-up made a rude gesture. Trumpie hit the truck with the flagpole. Driver jumped out with a tire iron. Blood happened.

I didn’t see this, but a very trustworthy source witnessed everything and called the police. The only place I’ve found any mention of this is the police blotter.

The other incidents I am talking about are also small and not really remarkable because nobody died. I can dig up links but none of them specifically connect them to the election. I do because I have a suspicious mind.

Well, someone got shot today but I don’t know all the details and it might not be a part of the election madness.

I took a peek at the FB page for the Maricopa County Elections Department. No mentions of violence but plenty of buffoons making posts about how the Ds are rigging the results, etc.

I’m glad there has been so little violence, at least that I am currently aware of. Guess where I live based on my description below assuming you don’t already know.

All election day, I saw various pickup trucks driving around with Trump Flags, Confederate Flags, and various other flags and signs(blue lives matter, “don’t tread on me”, etc.). They were honking when pacing schools and other voting locations.

It was kind of intimidating, to be honest.

Where do I live? Spoiler-boxed below:

Michigan. Wayne County, which voted 70%+ for Gretchen Whitmer, the Democratic governor who just won re-election easily. In the state that had one of the biggest, if not the biggest, blue shift and victories in the nation this past week.

Like, it’s house and senate had never been both Democratic in 40+ years. And now it is very blue and we see these type of trucks circling/driving around towns.

I saw the same in 2020.

Thanks. I wasn’t be skeptical, just curious. This sort of thing could be very widespread, but it wouldn’t get reported otherwise.

I wasn’t thinking you were doubting me, I’d have asked myself. I agree, there could be a lot more happening that isn’t being “seen”. The fight my friend saw wasn’t considered to be political by LE, but others of us feel differently.

Hobbs just got 64 % of the votes in the pima vote batch!

NYtimes has Cortez-Masto ahead in NV at the moment.

WOOT WOOT!!! That’s great news for sure!

I’m not seeing that. When I click it isn’t showing an update.

ETA: MSNBC is showing the same, no update yet.

Democrats score an upset House victory in Washington state. NBC just called it for the Democrat to fill the seat of a Republican who was primaried.

204d - 211 r!

This is Perez in WA-03. Really an upset, and wonderful.

So Laxalt got 57%; he’s got to be feeling good about that.

Not seeing it on NYT or MSNBC.

…though now it’s on their map.

They publish instantly on Twitter, hard to stay current on the websites.

etc.

I’ll certainly miss this if Musk messes it up.

They covered it about 10 minutes ago.
