I’d like one of the top guys to throw out a low round today, then fade over the weekend - just to reduce the field.
Well, you might get your wish, Graeme McDowell is 4 under, with three holes to play. with a 12 footer on #7. But holes 8 and 9 are tough holes.
McDowell finished at 3 under, three putting Hole #9.
So if he is the leader (or co-leader), the cut will be +7. Right now there are over a hundred golfers at +7 or better.
Quite a few in the top 10-20 still to go off. Hoping one of them pops to -4 or 5.
Looking at what else has been wagered, looks like I’m pretty much out of this already.
Well Weir appears to have his mind set on proving me right today.
There is no way that I can root for that. Tom Watson finished at 7 over, and I cannot root for him to miss the cut.
Y.E. Yang shot a 49 on the back nine today. Went from a contender at the turn at +1 to missing the cut by seven shots. Yowza.

And Lamar Mundane finally gets off the goose egg!! He was shut out in the Masters Pool.
And I have been meaning to ask borchevsky why he picked Kent Eger?
Just wondering if you know the guy. I have never heard of him. I see that he is Canadian and he did pick Mike Weir, but did not pick Stephen Ames.
Man, watching that 14th was ROUGH!
Well at least all of my guys are still playing, not that half of them have a shot now, but they’re still there. So come on Els, and I’d love for Harrington to shoot up the board.
I know his brother a little bit, he plays at my club. I played a round with him (the brother) on Monday and we were talking about Kent qualifying. We were waiting on the 6th tee and he was talking about how Kent is much better than him; I had to laugh because he was -4 through 5 at the time :).
There are some good scores to be had out there today - Davis Love is -5 on the front nine alone. A lot of red numbers from the early tee times. On the other hand, Mike Weir is +9.
Yes, tees have been moved up on a couple of holes. #3 hole has been shortened by about 40 yds.
The par 4 fourth hole is only playing 284 which nearly every player can drive.
Most scores are over par from the early starters but Tom Watson is -3 today after 12 holes.
The weatherman is forecasting heavier winds today. 20 mph and higher gusts.
What a special place this is. I was fortunate enough to be there on Thursday. But I’ll be watching on TV for the rest-- it’s really hard to watch a lot of good golf at the course.
I see YE Yang shot a 49 on the back nine yesterday. Yikes! That 14 hole can be brutal, but he had almost nothing but squares on his card for those holes.
Mike Wier’s round of 83 included an eagle on four.
It is beginning to look like Tiger is slowly getting it back. But Johnson looks for real. Tiger needs the front golfers to come back a little.
Holy shit, Tiger.
That was a hell of a shot. He likes to take chances.
