Interesting to see just two Americans (Garrigus & Chappell) in the top 10.
Slow thread. I guess there’s not much scope to fellate either Tiger or Phil.
I was just thankful that someone was so far ahead that I didn’t have to fret too much about the possibility of playoff holes. I work at a newspaper, and there are few things that vex me more than sporting events that fail to finish in a timely fashion.
Yeah-the state of American play has gotten so bad that I heard the phrase “top American” for the first time ever yesterday afternoon. Think about that for a few moments. Almost all of the hotshot young kids are from other countries (tho the top amateur-yes, American-had an excellent tourney and came within 2 strokes of Jack’s amateur record at the Open-on Friday he birdied 6 out of 10 holes).
In NBC’s opening segment, they did a piece that included an edited Pledge of Allegiance. Words Edited: “Under God”. NBC got attacked in social media including twitter and facebook for the edit, so 3 hrs into the telecast they issued an apology:
Only problem, the apology never mentioned the words “Under God”. This has got to be one of the most in-sincerest apologies ever on record.
Let’s keep politics out of this golf thread. In a different forum I saw comment about Rory being a Catholic and yet celebrating by waving a Northern Irish flag. Some people just look to have a fight about things…
Well done, Rory! Let’s hope he stays nice and grounded - seems to have a good support network around him.
