The US has moved two aircraft carrier battle groups to the area, transported PATRIOT and THAAD air defense systems to semi-allied nearby nations, and positioned 5 of 19 B-2 bombers at Diego Garcia. This is in support of Trump’s threatening Iran to return to nuclear disarmament negotiations. A bluff? He claims to be anti-war but his actions are anything but.
Trump likes to pair actions to give cover for things. For example, he’ll do things like release the JFK files at the same time that he shuts down anti-money laundering initiatives. He gets to put out messages that he’s cutting out the Deep State while setting the scene for his own corruption.
So I note, today, that the US military is planning to cut headcount significantly:
Making a seemingly aggressive military move would cover defense cuts.
The transfer of military equipment to the Middle East continues, with a C-17A and a C-5M both originating from Korea, crossing Europe towards(CENTCOM). With another C-5M from Ramstein Air Base,to the Middle East. Since March 25th, over 120 flights arrived in the region, including C-17s, C-5s, C-130s, KC-135s, and KC-46s.
An additional THAAD (anti-ballistic missile system) has been sent to Israel.
This isn’t an exercise.

I’ve been assuming that when the Dow hits -30% he’ll start a war to distract. Maybe they’re preparing.
If they do attack Iran, what are their targets? When Israel attacked Iran last year, they targeted their air defenses, rocket fuel manufacturing facilities, and nuclear programs.
Also Trump makes more sense when you understand he is a malignant narcissist. Iran has been trying to kill Trump ever since his administration killed Soleimani in 2020.

According to a criminal complaint unsealed in Manhattan federal court, Shakeri said during an FBI interview that in September he was directed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran to surveil and kill Trump, whom the charging papers identify as “Victim-4.”
When Shakeri told an IRGC official that doing so would prove expensive, the official responded that “money’s not an issue,” which Shakeri “understood to mean that the IRGC previously had spent a significant sum of money on efforts to murder Victim-4 and was willing to continue spending a lot of money in its attempt to procure Victim-4’s assassination,” according to the charging papers.
This could be like the Iraq war, where a big factor in the war was George W Bush taking revenge on the government that tried to kill his dad. Maybe Trump wants revenge against Iran for trying to kill him.
Population centers. Any attack will be about Trumpian spite, not rational military goals.
More firepower in the region. Four B-52s have arrived in Diego Garcia in addition to the six B-2 bombers currently there. It’s getting crowded with the tankers and other large support aircraft.
Additional pressure on Iran? Or just relief for some /all of the B-2s? Its expensive and not easy to msintain the stealth coatings on a B-2.

President Trump warned Thursday that a “massive conflict” could break out in the Middle East over the issue of Iran’s nuclear program but said he wants a diplomatic resolution, after the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog found that Tehran had failed to comply with its nonproliferation obligations for the first time in two decades.
Trump has said recently that he has held Israel back from attacking Iran’s nuclear processing facilities, and threatened that if the current talks between the United States and Iran don’t curb the latter’s ability to enrich uranium, then military strikes are an option.
