In a podcast two weeks ago, about potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidates, Nate Silver said if Talarico won he’d be “like the fuckin’ Beatles – all four Beatles put together.”
Watching the Detroit area Fox station for the shits and giggles, which has a hopeful propagandist, with no real clue, at all. And he just tried to say(and backed off mid sentence) that they would see a huge Wayne county dump late in morning, then a 4% dump came in with him on the air, and started to say that it was kind of suspicious that the inexplicable( which is obvious to anyone with a brain) dem surge came in early, which is even more suspicious.
Sorry I have been celebrating with Balvenie 15 Portwood. That probably wasn’t clear.
Back during his brief presidential campaign in 2004, Al Sharpton said something at one of the primary debates along the lines of “there needs to be a reckoning between the Christian right and the right Christians.”
Perhaps we’re finally starting to see that reckoning.
A big deal, though, that Democrat Jamie Davis ran within two points of her with absolutely no name recognition three months ago.
Louisiana’s never-vote-Democrat floor right now is about 46-47% of eligible voters, so we’ll need some attrition to pull a Texas and start flipping some seats blue. Maybe 8-12 years from now. Davis made a hell of a run all the same.
I’ve been flipping back and forth to Fox News, because it’s just too delicious in moments like this.
Karolyn Leavitt was on, looking very much like Elizabeth Holmes ( I don’t know if it was make-up, weigh loss or if she had work done, but she looked different. She managed to pivot to Trump’s greatness and “accomplishments” every time she opened her mouth.
As the extent of the losses is becoming apparent, they are getting…well, scared. They keep talking about how the people have spoken and they very much want to reach across the aisle and work together, and they hope the Democrats will not waste time with investigations and impeachments, we should forget the past and work together to deliver to the American people.
Trump even called in, I wish they showed the faces of the people he was talking too, because he was sundowning big time, he was asked about the election results and he responded talking about all the oil that was flowing in through the Strait of Hormuz, so much oil, more oil than anyone has ever seen, did you know we conquered Venezuela in 48 minutes, that al, it took and there’s so much oil flowing in from there and Greenland, we have Greenland now, it’s ours and no one ever reports on it but we have Greenland and we didn’t have to go to war we could have but we made a deal now we have Greenland and we conquered Venezuela in 48 minutes and there’s so much oil flowing in…. (It sounds like someone convinced him that we own Greenland, probably to avoid going to war to do it.)
He answered every question with a similar unrelated ramble, but at the end someone finally got him to say that he congratulated the Democrats and wanted to work with them and wouldn’t contest the results (which I’ll take as good news, but it’s Trump, who knows what he’ll say tomorrow)
We did it. We outvoted the inherently rigged system, we outvoted all the cheats, all their stupid gerrymanders backfired and we won by such an overwhelming margin that they can’t call fraud. We did it.
Now they are scared of the impeachments and investigations and having their criminality exposed, and they are going to start being all fake nice and wanting to work together. I hope no one falls for it.
I’m watching the Huizenga race (MI-4), and he’s only up by 0.2. Granted, only a third of the votes are counted, but he’s always just skated to reelection.
It’s not due to counting by municipality. All of New England counts votes at the municipal level, and most of them count quickly, even NH, which is often close.
(The first source i could find for this was the caption on a WaPo graph, which said:
“The Senate map displays county-level results, or parish-level results in the case of Louisiana. Vote totals by township in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont have been aggregated to the county level.” )
Counting by hand may be an issue. Having to drive results across rural Maine may be an issue, too.
