USA Election Watch 2026

I posted this in the Senate Race thread:

Looks like Kris Kolbach lost in Kansas.

Party and seat?

Kris Kobach (R) is the incumbent Attorney General in Kansas. He lost his re-election bid in a close race.

Good riddance to him. He’s 60 years old and hopefully he’s done with politics. He’s been SOS, AG, and lost the governor’s race in 2018.

Kris Kobach (Asshole). More on him here:

A real piece of work.

Thank you both. I added that to the low information post.

It’s now 2574 with approximately 31,000 remaining. Monday is the last day for mail to arrive and be counted and for people to cure their ballots. It could be considerably fewer that end up being added to the total.

The good thing is that the vote counts are all-encompassing; it’s not like they have to go back and count the other choices beyond first on each ballot. All that is being collected at once, so the ranked choice calculation doesn’t have to delay anything at all. When all the ballots are tabulated (including the curing process) they should have the result, period. The only delay is in getting the ballots processed (which of course is going to take a while longer).

Just want to make clear that that date is wrong. Mail-in ballots will be accepted until the 18th, 15 days after the election. At that point they’ll do the ranked choice processing. In fact, it says that in the Achorage Daily News article linked to.

Appreciate the correction. Apologies for getting it wrong.

Summary

As P.J. O’Rourke said during the 2016 campaign, “She’s wrong about absolutely everything, but she’s wrong within normal parameters.” Anyone who thought Trump was normal anything was either hungry for power or not paying attention.

Moderating:
Current election, not past.

I’ll hide your post for you.

Norm eisen states that the provisional ballots that can be cured with id have until 5pm, tues. to get to that done. After that the nov 13 is county certification. Norm believes at this time the math favours colom. It is looking more like miss has flipped.
