I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else, but sometimes when I come to the front page (www.straightdope.com) I’m redirected or served with a popup to http://www.usafis.org/_sys/EN/LP_Counter.asp?af=Ddc , which purports to be a “green card lottery” and is presumably a phishing scam.
Just mentioning it in case anyone else is having the same problem.
I seem to remember that you are overseas. You might want to mention your general location, as the ads are locally targeted. (In other word, you get different ads depending on where you are.)
And I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to be getting popups, but someone in charge will have to confirm.
