USE Yer Gaddam Turn Signals!!

Ever been:
(1) waiting on a side street, and a guy comes down the road-and turns into your street? WHY couldn’t he use his blinkers? You could have gotten out, now you have to wait…and wait…
(2) Behind a car, at a light (on the left). Light turns green-and the car just stays put (he’s turning left). Thanks stupid-If I knew you were turning left, i wouln’t have gotten behind you!
Why do they bother p[utting turn signals in cars? Most drivers don’t use them!

sigh Around here, if someone has his turn signal on, it must have been on when he bought the car, or he hit it by accident reaching for his beer.

Forget world peace, if we could just get people to use turn signals properly I’d be much happier.

I have a continuing fantasy of following these drivers home and RIPPING THE GODDAMN STALK OUT!!!

Then I feel a little better.

Its worse when they DO use their blinkers, and even slow down before approaching the intersection, and wait till you decide to pull out (since they are turning, after all) to accelerate, nearly wipe you out and then flip you the bird for trying to cut them off.

It is my husbands firm belief that the car manufacturers should install a device that would hinder people from leaving their blinkers on while driving for hours.

He feels that after a mile of the blinker still going and going and going…the car should suddenly turn in the direction of the blinker that is lit, thus causing them to remember to turn the damned things off.

I think most new cars have that. Mine does.

My '93 Cutlass Ciera starts dinging if you leave the turn signal on for longer than a half-mile. There’s one turn near my mother’s house that’s not so much a turn as a “bear right”, and I always forget that the curve isn’t sharp enough to release the signal. Every time that damn thing rings five or six blocks later it scares the crap out of me because I think something’s happening to the car…

Even better is the blinker-counting-guided-missile. Acquire target, when blinking continues for more than 2 minutes without a turn, the warhead is released.

I was once in this situation. I was waiting to turn right from a side street, and I saw the oncoming car with his blinker on ready to turn onto my street. So I pull out…and suddenly he’s swerving around my car at full speed, continuing straight. That would’ve been a driver-side collision for me, in my old non-airbagged truck.

I don’t trust blinkers any more, needless to say. I wait until I see them start to turn.

I think I am the only person in the state who knows how to use a turn signal. Seriously. Oh some people do out them on - but usually only if they are going straight ahead or turning the other way. I am starting to suspect iot is a cultural thing, me being a furriner in this state and this country. The cops ignore it as well, almost as if there were no law regarding the use of blinkers. It drives me crazy, especially if I am waiting in heavy traffic to turn.

I live in Austin, Texas. Where blinkers have not yet been invented
This is lucky though, because in Dallas, not cutting across a four lane highway and almost causing a wreck has not been invented

Why should I use my turn signals? It’s obvious to me which way I’m going, how can it be so hard for you to work out?

[sub]I’m kidding[/sub]

And the signal-come-latelys. They turn their blinkers on during the turn they are making or after entering the lane they are changing to. Are they looking for technicalities?

Blinkers are a sign of weakness, didn’t you know?

Would you perhaps be willing to invest in my idea?

Honey, you know I use my turn signals. You ride with me.

But he’s right, it seems like no one else in this state uses them. We’ve had several near-misses with people to whom turn signals are anathema.

… AND BEATING THEM TO DEATH WITH IT!!!
Now I feel better.

It is of course a well known automotive fact that you don’t have to use your indicating lights if there’s no other vehicles in your immediate vicinity. This means any pedestrians foolishly intent on crossing the road must accept their status as insignificant non-traffic and look lively if and when you decide to turn.

Use my turn signal and tip my hand? Oh you’'d like that, wouldn’t you!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

What bothers me is the fact that police never, ever use turn signals. Since they are above the law, apparantly they don’t need to bother. I don’t know why they even have directionals put into police cruisers.
