Using fresh cut strawberries: need answer fast

I have some very nice strawberries that sat too long. Many have spots of bruise or mold, but i went through them and most and mostly sound. I want to cut out the bad parts and do something with the rest.

I could just put them in a bowl with milk and eat them. (It would fill a cereal bowl.) Any other suggestions?

Spread them out on a cookie tray and pop it in the freezer. Once they’ve frozen solid, put them into a ziplock bag and keep in the freezer. I do this and use them in smoothies.

Nothing like a burst of tart strawberry goodness in the middle of winter. I’ll defrost em in maple syrup over low heat.

Or mash em add sugar and put on yogurt.

Get a shortcake roll at the supermarket. Layer on the sliced strawberries. Top with whipped cream. Instant ambrosia .

Besides the shortcake roll, waffles or pancakes will do covered in whipped cream. Blueberries, bananas, apples (soften up in microwave a bit if you wish). All good.

Put some sugar on them (or Splenda) and leave them covered in the fridge overnight. If you want you can even put a splash of your favorite booze. Then put them on ice cream or in yogurt or over shortcake or pound cake or any cake really. Or just eat them with a spoon by themselves.

Slice them into a bowl, add a spoon or two of sugar and a little splash of balsamic vinegar, turn them in the bowl for a minute or two until the juice starts to combine with the sugar to form a syrup; they will keep for a couple of days in the fridge, and they taste utterly amazing like this.

We currently have frozen bananas (peeled), blueberries, peaches, and strawberries, for smoothies.

Get a small bowl of sugar and after cutting of the stems push the strawberry into the sugar. The juice will pick up some sugar and adhere it to the strawberry if you don’t push crazy hard. Bite and repeat until there are no more strawberries, getting more sugar if necessary.

Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew

Ah, the lost stanza of the Hokey Pokey.
