We’re going to show The Conqueror as a springboard for our demonstration
against nuclear testing in Bloomington, Ind. at the Buskirk Chumley Theatre.
It fits so well-we’re calling it an End-of-the-World Premier. Ghengis Khan [U]**IS] George Bush: A genocidal maniac who liked good roads and a strong
central government.
We got the local film series (Ryder) to rent the film for us, it will cost 250-300
for 3 days. We have to pay for a union projectionist and a small staff to have the theatre on a Tues. (450.) So, almost any grassroots org can afford this method.
It appeals to conservatives as well because, well–John Wayne was poisoned!!
Actually, it wasn’t my idea, my friend who’s this genius film archivist gave me the idea because he said it fit the subject matter and the subject so well.
We’re encouraging all independent film people and people wanting to do something about The Other Conqueror (Dubya) to find a place to show this film.
We’re going to make a big deal out of people arriving at the premier, let them make statements,etc., and then tell people to feel free to walk in and out of the movie after it begins so they won’t feel like they have to sit through the whole stinker.

I’m going to go ahead and think it’s the latter.
No it’s not spam. We’re using the movie The Conqueror because it was filmed
near an A bomb testing site and alot of people got cancer. There’s alot of angles:
John Wayne as a homicidal maniac delivering ridiculous lines in a faux Texan accent (Bush); the movie was shot in the Utah desert next to a test site (Bush);
It’s a real demonstration against the nuclear testing scheduled for June 2 and using Yucca Mountain as a nuclear waste storage facility for the entire country. We don’t want any money from anyone, or any credit for the idea. We just wanted to pass the idea around for others to use.
it’s all about the title of the movie and what happened to those people; and the
same thing happening again in the same area with The Other Conqueor (Bush), and what will happen to those people.

Larry, ha-ha, I thought someone would catch that. The rally is in Bloomington In. May 30 at the Buskirk Chumley Theatre, unless we can get May 23. IU is the home of Cyclotron, some sort of nuclear research facility (strictly
egghead?), however.
Shouldn’t this be in MPSIMS or GD or The Pit?
