USMLE--Step 1

So what have people found most helpful in studying for the medical boards, step one. I have had First Aid and NMS recommended. Anything else anyone feels strongly about?

Q-Bank question bank through Kaplan was very helpful. I also went through the Board Review Series of books for Pathology and Pharmacology and the Micro made ridiculously simple because those subjects are heavily weighted on Step 1. A thorough knowledge of anatomy, histology, and biochem are helpful of course, but there are not a lot of questions that are purely in those subjects. Most questions require you to use your biochem knowledge to answer a pharm question or histology knowledge to answer a path question.

I would also recommend 3-4 weeks dedicated to studying for the exam after your coursework is done this year. More specific medical message boarding can be found at http://forums.studentdoctor.net
