Valet Auto Review: 1977 Cadillac Fleetwood

This edition of VAR involves a 30 year old clunker, the Cadillac Fleetwood.

The center silver two door model:

A four hundred twenty something cube V8 driving the rear wheels via 3 speed auto.

VERY out of tune, I doubt this motor put out more than 100 hp.
Bad shock absorbers and roll bars mad this car bounce and sway through turns and bumps like a rowboat in choppy water.

Rotten carpet and upholstery, retrofitted with replacement seats from who knows what, and emitting the odor of three decades worth of gasoline, motor oil, antifreeze, marlboros, old spice, pizza, and wet dog.

Ahh, the days when you had to pump the accelerator to start the car…carburetors and chokes, people.

Update:

Tonight I just parked a later year four-door version of this vehicle.

5.0 liter small block instead of the big block and much beter condition inside and out, but still takes turns like a rollercoaster.
