Whether or not Shodan is being petty has nothing to do with the fact that you and your ilk are being weenies when you complain about it.
You think that someone caring about another poster using a signoff makes them a weenie.
But you have posted 12 times in this thread (if the ‘find all posts’ works properly). So, you apparently care that people care about another poster using a signoff.
That makes you, and everyone else who cared enough to write multiple posts about how stupid it is to care about others’ signoffs, uber-weenies and/or just plain stupid.

Your whole purpose for being in this thread is to call people “weenies”. That makes absolutely no sense. Wasting your time supporting something you don’t even do by insulting others who are annoyed by a behavior is beyond weenieness. Your application for Team Weenie is denied. As far as I can tell, you don’t even have a dog in the fight here. No matter how petty you think this whole topic is (and in the whole scheme of world issues, this is pretty low on the list), Shodan, Vox, et. al., don’t need your input to support their positions.

If it matters to anyone (and I understand that it probably doesn’t really), getting a “Regards, Shodan” in a thread where I had announced the death of my husband felt like a deliberate slap in my face. And yes, in the midst of all the kind comments, it hurt.
Words are powerful things.
I sincerely hope what I say does not keep you up at night. The most I could hope for would be that you might take a step back and say, “Wow, maybe complaining about a two line sign-off really is beneath me.” Clearly you haven’t reached that point yet.

When a poster has established that X means “fuck you,” saying “Sorry about your loss. X” is going to be hurtful.
