I’m watching this commercial last night and this girl’s going on about how this drug controls her genital herpes. All well and good. At the end of the commercial, she is holding hands by the pool with her sweetie, and it occurs to me, how is it going to happen that these two decide to get married?
Or more generally, how does anyone with an STD handle telling the person with whom they want to spend their life that they have this disease? And how does the other person marry someone that they know has a disease? With the prevalence of venereal diseases in the world today, this has to be something that comes up quite a bit, but I haven’t ever really thought about it.
