Vanilla Ice arrested on theft charges.

There’s got to be more to this story. Ice isn’t exactly broke enough to start a career of petty theft. They’ve said it was somehow tied to his DIY show he’s filming. I think he’s on season 5.

I’ve grown to really respect and like the guy. Especially after seeing how hard he worked building and remodeling with the Amish. Several of the projects helped families with injured men that have been off work. Rob is such a grounded and hard working guy. He seems to have put his troubled past behind him.

I’d guess he thought scrounging from an abandoned property was ok. Wouldn’t the bank usually throw stuff like this away after foreclosing? Basically clean up the property and get it ready to sell again. Hard to imagine anyone would care about some beat up pool furniture and rusty bicycles.

I guess it goes to show never assume anything. No matter how neglected the property might be. There might be somebody that actually cares about junk that is there.

I’ll be curious to see what new information gets reported. For example pictures of the property. Is it badly neglected or not? What is Rob’s explanation? Why would he scrounge anything? What use would he have for this crap?

I found aMMPS threadthat I started in July 2013. The bank sent a clean up crew to the wrong address. They threw out all the furniture, some car parts etc. The homeowner had partially moved out but the house wasn’t in foreclosure. The clean out crew saw basically an empty house and got rid of the few things still there. Needless to say the bank is/was in trouble.

So, yes it is SOP for the bank to clean out foreclosed properties. Rob has bought and flipped many, many homes in the past 20 years and would know that.

Still doesn’t explain why he’d want that crap to begin with. Maybe it was some stupid stunt for the cameras? They were filming a house flip he’s doing right next door.

This article came out before Rob’s arrest. He helped a family with a disabled kid put in a pool for the kid’s physical therapy.

He does a lot of charity work like this. He helped several Amish families in the prior season of the Vanilla Ice Project. He seems like a stand up guy.

CNN video has footage of the house and property. The furniture was just standard pool lounges. Rob was asked if this was part of his Reality Show. Rob laughed and said he wished it was.

Such a strange story.

The news being David Bowie is not the plaintiff, this time.

More specific details. Doesn’t sound good. Its a shame. He seemed to have turned things around in the past few years.
