What the FUCK just happened?

Why would they kill off and replace their series star after half a season? Is it a ratings thing? It pisses me off, frankly…I liked the guy as Wyatt Earp in Deadwood and he was the main reason I watched the show.
Seriously! He was the only reason I decided to start watching it since he’s HOT and did a damn fine job in Queer as Folk. He better live some how. >< This is so STUPID.
My wife was saying “he might be alive and in the hospital” but shit, even if he survived, he was shot four times in the chest, he won’t be working on this case or anything else for months, so either way he’s off the show and that guy who played in Invasion is the new lead.
This smacks of desperation to me.
Why not plan the series to lose the lead investigator a few episodes in? FBI work is dangerous, especially when you’re up against an ancient international conspiracy. Killing off the lead (if he is in fact dead) is a bold move.
Plus, Eddie Cibrian is a jillion times hotter than Gale Harold could ever hope to be.
Not in my opinion. I didn’t care for him on Invasion and I don’t care for him here. The other guy is a much more interesting actor.
Actually, it isn’t nearly as dangerous as being a local cop. Very very few FBI agents are killed in the line of duty.
Gale Harold is an actor? I thought he was a ventriloquist’s dummy.
Seriously, I was never able to figure out how he managed to con the QAF producers into casting him as the Hottest Man Alive. he wasn’t even the hottest one in the cast, especially after Robert Gant joined up. Not that he’s not attractive but he’s not all that and he’s not that interesting of an actor in anything I’ve seen him in. Not like Cibrian is Larry Olivier but at least his face moves when he speaks.
God, fine, whatever, TV FBI work is dangerous.
Are you kidding? I despised Gant’s character. Hell, I fast forwarded through most of his stuff. I found his character to be extrememly dull. And he was not more attractive than Harold. But now we’re just delving into the world of personal preferences, where everyone’s ‘right’ lol
“Thought” may be too generous a word for whatever processes led to that comment.
It definitely was a WTF moment. My first thought was bullet-proof vest, but when they pulled back and showed the pool of blood, that shot that theory.
I’d been wondering whether to write this one off. I was starting to get it mixed up with “Kidnapped”, and the Masonic references were just a bit too much. And you know that there will be reference to Knights Templar eventually. I mean, “The X-Files” was a terrific paranoid conspiracy show, but that was ten years ago.
Still, if they were willing to make him the central figure only to kill him off, I figure they have a few more surprises up their sleeves. I’ll stay with it for awhile.
You’re right, I shouldn’t have mistaken him for a dummy because it was usually his hand up someone else’s ass on QAF. But I still say Justin came away with a butt full of splinters. Harold has shown more emotion in five episodes of Vanished than he did in five seasons of QAF.
See, I have my doubts that this was the plan all along. This seems to me more of a “Oh God, the ratings aren’t good, we have to CHANGE something” moment.
I’m with you. The brilliance of Gale is that when I first started watching QAF, I was like “why is everyone ga-ga over this Brian guy? He’s not that hot?” But then after like… two episodes… he WAS the hottest guy on the show. Because he PLAYED it that well. I think he’s a great actor. I’m sorry if some people can’t see the subtlety of his performances, but I love the guy. Gant’s character was physically repulsive to me and more boring than watching paint dry. I HATED seeing love scenes with him, and would fastforward through them, whereas I rewound and rewatched the ones with Gale.
Now for the topic of the thread… Come on guys, did NO ONE watch the previews for next episode? They show him in the hospital. He’s not dead.
Yeah, that must be it. Anyone who disagrees is thick.
Why is everyone talking about the hotness of the actor and not about the plot points?
I get that it’s a 24 clone. But as they go, at least it’s entertaining and keeps my interest.
I don’t care how “hot” he is, as I don’t swing that way, but I do think he’s a good actor. I enjoyed his performance and I disliked Eddie Cibrian’s turn as the park ranger in Invasion.
BTW, how is it a spoiler when the show aired almost a week ago?
Nah, it’s not a spoiler, but I finally caught up and thaought there was gonna be a lot of talk about plot points and I didn’t find any.
I loved Invasion, but Cibrian was the weakest link, IMO.
I just assumed it was him in the morgue lol
