Vanity Searches

(Sorry, the search function is timing out a lot on me today, so if this question has been addressed before, I apologize.)

Why is it that when I do a vanity search and select “Search All Open Forums,” I don’t get a list of all my most recent posts.

To clarify, leaving ALL the criteria the same, if I search for all posts by user name pulykamell and leave everything else on default setting, I get extra results if I search forum-by-forum rather than by a metasearch.

For example:

Today’s search: Search by User Name: pulykamell. Search in Forum(s):Search All Open Forums. All other settings at default. (At Least 0 replies; Find Posts from A Week Ago and Newer; Sort results by Last Posting date in Decending Order. Also search child forums checked.)

Three hits for today:
It’s Not An Urban Myth, It’s True
S-M-I-T-H pronounced BROWN
Anyone been to Poland? What’s not to be missed (and what’s to be avoided)?

Same search, only criterium changed is Search in Forums(s):MPSIMS

Four hits for today:
*Critique my Photoshoppery
Do you northerners have had-head for 6 months
It’s Not An Urban Myth, It’s True
Anyone been to Poland? What’s not to be missed (and what’s to be avoided)
*

If I search IMHO, there’s two threads from today that the metasearch misses.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a quirk in the software?

You’re not doing anything wrong . . . except that we really kinda frown on vanity searches; it’s a drain on system resources that are scarce enough. This is especially true as the accelerator we were using previously is not working now and board performance has slowed down considerably.

We are having spot technical problems and have been for several days. I can’t say the techs have everything nailed down yet, as obviously little things keep happening here and there. All we can do is ask you to report your problems and be patient and considerate while we suffer through this rough patch.
