Vegans and insects

What do vegans feel about eating insects… of course, I mean vegans who get past the “eew! Icky! Bugs!” factor. g

IANAV, but I would imagine that it’s a definite no-no, since they don’t eat honey (which is only produced by insects).

I don’t pretend to speak for Vegans, but I don’t think so. Bugs are living things.

Now the Jains of India, who had a great influence on Veganism, certainly do NOT eat insects. In fact, Jains take great pains to not accidentally kill an insect. For example, wear masks so as not to inhale an insect by accident. Rudyard Kipling wrote about some of the Jain practices in Kim at the turn of the last century.
