Venture Bros. 8/13

I missed the first half, why was Brock naked?

It’s all psycological man. He’s doing it just to scare the shit out of people, literaly!

He said Te-he-sex, the middle syllable was the H he was trying to pronounce seperately.

He said Te-he-sex, the middle syllable was the H he was trying to pronounce separately.

See look, I can run spell check. But I just wasn’t quick enough this time, dammit!

Interesting episode. Not as funny as some of the others, but you get interesting insight into their lives.

  • Rusty calls Brock to do the parenting
  • This is what happens when you have someone who grew up in the Eighties write for other people who grew up in the Eighties
  • Taking the dirt nap while listening to Technotronic?
  • Apparently the Monarch has taken a break from hiring more henchmen since the last disasterous recruitment effort.
  • If Phantom Limb, just budgeted his finances properly he wouldn’t need to be selling Guild insurance. Fancy antique cars and persian rugs.
  • Yeah, Iranian rugs just don’t have any cachet.
  • Take out all of Brocks friends? Right. They would have problems with Molotov Cocktease alone.

It’s funny that Brock didn’t go back when Dr. Venture asked him too, but went to save the boys. Why risk Dr. Venture when they could have just cloned a couple more boys?

Oh, right. Dr. Venture is disarmed and bleeding to death.

Don’t imagine that’ll be mentioned again.

I don’t see why they should. Master Billy successfully reattached the arm. They also haven’t mentioned anything further about the incident where Rusty’s eyeball was dislodged from its orbit.

You have to remember to keep watching after the credits. They usually wrap up some dangling plot threads (or limbs) with a short scene.

Jackson Publick addressed this on his livejournal after the big reveal at the beginning of the season. Yes, they can make more Venture brothers, but seeing a couple of hyper-innocent teenagers die and knowing that he failed them isn’t a fun experience. Brock therefore, will fight his hardest to save the boys. He’s a big softie like that. Besides, if the boys died they wouldn’t have the memory of their first dates.

archmichael: The Monarch can’t hire new henchmen without Guild approval. That’s what the whole insurance/double date thing was all about.
