Are these any good? I just came across a reference to the series and had never heard of it before. I assume Arthur C. Clarke just lent his name to the series and that Paul Preuss did all the actual writing.
IIRC, it was okay, I went out of my way to get the final two books to finish the series. But I can’t say it stood out in my mind like his classics “A fall of Moondust”, “Childhood’s end”, “rendezvous with Rama”. I remember next to nothing about the story line.
It was so-so. Each volume was basically an adaptation of a Clarke short story into a full-length novel, with an overriding story arc between volumes. Thus you actually can call it by Clarke (since he wrote the short stories) as well as by Preuss.
