Veronica Mars 2/20: Plot, plot and more plot! (spoilers)

Of the 58 counties in California, three of them (Alpine, Mariposa, and Trinity) have no incorporated cities. All of them are very small in terms of population.

Neptune County would be unusual in not having a city, but it’s not unheard of.

The description of tonight’s episode says: Keith questions Mindy O’Dell and makes her realize that Hank Landry killed her husband. That’s a hell of a spoiler if it’s true. So we could assume the opposite and say it can’t be true or else they wouldn’t spell it out in the episode description.

My money is on Weavil as the killer of the dean.

Okay, so I finally watched this so that I wouldn’t be more than a week behind on VM.

Quite an episode. Love the fact that Keith is the sheriff again. As soon as the woman said she was a neurologist I was figuring that he’d convinced a friend to kill him.

And… as far as Lamb. I was laughing and howling at Wallace’s long-delayed comeback zinger about him being a ‘friend of Dorothy’s.’ Poked my head into here before fast-forwarding the commercials to see if anybody else had commented on it, and got spoiled on his death first thing. Oh well.

Now, I’m starting to wonder if somebody on the VM writing staff has been keeping that line for years, and was waiting for the perfect time to bring Wallace and Lamb back into the same room so he could unload it. But then, with Lamb dying, they decided to force the sitch a bit to make sure it was said to Lamb’s face while he was still alive.

And - we’ve got some more Wallace in this ep, but as a tradeoff no sign of Piz. (sigh.) And hintage for a Logan/Parker hookup.

Oh, one other question to throw out there. Can anybody think of a recurring theme for the middle arc of third season, so far? First two seasons had all kinds of riffs about the haves and have-nots of Neptune, class warfare, buying justice and all that. The Heart Rape arc kinduv put that on hold for ‘sexual politics on a pressure cooker’… but I can’t put my finger on what the dean’s death stuff is really all about, if anything.

CK signing off.
