Very concerned about my 3 year old daughter - blood in urine

I don’t really have advice, just a little support.

My 15 year old son had a UTI earlier this year. Scared the heck out of us all. He was peeing bright red. We took a very quick trip to Emergency where he got some IV antibiotics and a prescrip. It’s fairly unusual to see UTI’s in teenage boys, so the doctors were a bit freaked too. Anyway, it cleared right up and hasn’t re-occured.

I just wanted to give you a “Been there, done that and know how you feel.” I’m sure she’'ll be fine.

Hugs to both of you.

Well, I know how you guys worry so I thought I had better follow up.

We have yellowish-pink but cloudy pee today! But oddly enough there are more RBC’s (550) in it than when it was red. strange.

All tests looked good other than that, no anemia, no infections. I can’t remember which right now but there are two tests that are coming back in a week. Ultrasound of the kidney and bladder this Friday to rule out tumor…but only because there is no definitive test to prove she has this antibody reaction that they suspect.

You can’t believe my relief to see this pee look more normal. It’s not perfect looking but it doesn’t look like kool-aid or tomato juice anymore.

Thanks everyone for the support!!!

By the way, I have had a chance to talk to my husband a little. I just let him know a little about it and didn’t mention the tumor word, and didn’t really go into how bad the pee looked. He is getting ready for a pretty big mission and he needs to have his mind on that and not worrying. I got all my panic out in my post so luckily I was able to sound very calming and reassuring to him.

Glad you got good news today! And thanks so much for following up with us. It is good that you were able to “talk out” some of your concern and worry here before you talked to your husband. You were smart to help him stay focused on what he needs to do on his mission.

Keeping you in my thoughts
